SCAN's Project HOPES (Healthy Outcomes through Prevention and Early Start) program is committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect through education and early intervention in Maverick County. The Project HOPES program education and support to caregivers of children 0 to 5 years old and expecting parents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts outreach and recruitment of participants for the HOPES Program.
- Establishes and maintains a trusting and professional working relationship with families by providing regular contact.
- Utilizes the SafeCare curriculum to provide parenting education sessions to expectant parents and/or caregivers of young children (0 to 5 years) in their homes to prevent child abuse and neglect, create a positive relationship between caregivers and their children, and provide family support.
- Provide case management, resources and referrals, basic needs support and/or other support services to families.
- Documents all services provided and maintains accurate participant charts.
- Administers data collection instruments and records data collected.
- Obtains and maintains certification in providing SafeCare curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma plus 60 college hours, associate degree, or bachelor's degree.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) is required.
- Two years related direct experience serving families preferred, but not required.
- Ability to occasionally work some evening hours.
- Reliable transportation, proof of insurance, and a valid driver’s license are required.
