Job Summary
The primary role of the full-time Instructor in Accounting is to promote student success in a professional and ethical manner. Responsible for instructing and facilitating student learning; committed to student recruitment and retention; assessment of learning, development of curriculum, and the use of both classroom and distance learning instruction. This position is part of the teaching faculty and reports to the designated administrator.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or MBA in Accounting or a related field.
- Two (2) years of college teaching experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in managerial and tax accounting.
- Experience with instructional technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- CGMA, CMA or CPA Preferred.
- Experience with Accounting Software, Data Analytics Tools such as Excel, Tableau or PowerBI and Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard.
- Teaching experience in Accounting within the last five years.
- Ability to employ new pedagogies, multi-media and information technologies to supplement instruction within the classroom and alternative delivery methodologies.
- Knowledgeable in the learning needs and abilities of today’s community college student and the role of the community college in higher education and the community.
- Communication/social skills which enable cooperative, effective, and responsible work with community college students, faculty and staff.
- Familiarity with, and willingness to develop, online and other alternative delivery methodologies.
- Commitment to provide service to the department, campus, and to the larger community.

- Writing Skills: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Hours
Variable; minimum 14-16 credit hours per week in Fall and Winter; minimum 5 office hours per week in Fall and Winter; plus additional work responsibilities
