Associate Scientist/Scientist, Cell Biology
6-12mth contract
100% onsite - South San Francisco, CA
We are actively seeking a cell biology professional, with a strong background in mammalian cell culture, and preferred expertise in maintaining, characterizing, and differentiating human pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs/hESCs). Additional experience with CRISPR gene editing, is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and differentiate human iPSCs into neuronal lineages
- Establish and scale hiPSC differentiation protocols using 2D and 3D organoid cultures.
- Analyze stem cell cultures and their derivatives using wide range of assays including qPCR, ELISA, and high content imaging.
- Contribute to in vitro assay design and optimization.
- Present findings and data analysis in research meetings.
Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. degree in life science with 2 years experience working with mammalian cells or PhD with relevant laboratory experience.
- Extensive experience working with mammalian cell culture is essential
- Demonstrated experience working with human iPSC/ESCs is preferred
- Experience working in a drug discovery or industry setting is preferred
- Understanding of CRISPR gene editing is preferred
- Experience with lab automation is preferred.
- Maintain organized and detailed records of laboratory experiments in electronic laboratory notebooks.
