What are the responsibilities and job description for the National Fleet Manager position at ScS - Sofa Carpet Specialist?
We are looking for a National Fleet Manager to join our Distribution Team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of our fleet, this includes all heavy goods vehicles, small vans, company cars and grey fleet. Ensuring Car & Fleet legal compliances are maintained whilst proactively managing responsibilities and requirements of the Fleet Function. What does the role involve?
- Implementation of a continuous improvement programme, including establishing and overseeing a fleet audit process (including on-site visits).
- Ownership of vehicle procurement and management, including vehicle selection, replacement cycles and preparing and running tender processes.
- Extracting value and best practice from our national fleet management partners.
- Responsible for ensuring fleet compliance and risk management across the business’s HGVs, CDVs and company cars (including grey fleet)
- Support our aim to achieve a step change and be best in class in our HSE performance by acting as the technical expert on any investigations into fleet related incidents.
- Acting as a key point of contact for motor related insurance claims, including the management of incident cases and ensuring all key documents / footage from our HGV cameras are provided in a timely fashion.
- Implement reporting to ensure fleet compliance (in line with DVSA, GOV.UK requirements) and highlight opportunities to improve fleet safety and efficiency, including the use of our market leading telemetry software (fitted to all of our HGV and small vans fleet)
- Conduct a review of best in class fuel management solutions for all vehicles and drivers implementing any agreed changes to achieve business improvement.
- Create and deliver various workshops and educational programmes and maintain knowledge on all relevant changes to compliance requirements and best practice.
- Produce direction to department heads to assist in the annual budget cycle.
