The SPMC lifeguard team is a highly trained, well-paid group of individuals who truly enjoy their work. Starting pay $16.50 - $21.00 per hour based on experience. The skills mastered as a lifeguard are key in not only saving lives but preventing accidents and maintaining safety both by the pool and in daily life.
The number one priority of a lifeguard is PATRON SAFETY. SPMC lifeguards are certified in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR for infants, children, and adults. Lifeguards are responsible for supervising pool activities and protecting the safety of club members and guests. In addition, to supervising patron safety, Lifeguards are responsible for performing secondary duties, which involve maintain the general cleanliness of the facility.
Lifeguards shall be at the pool premises during the hours that the pool is open and guarded according to the schedule. Additional time (15-20 minutes) is scheduled before and after open pool hours in order to perform opening and closing duties.
Work Schedule and Location
This is a seasonal position that takes place during the summer months. Your work schedule is based on your availability. When you are hired, you will submit your availability, indicating any days that you are not able to work. You will also include whether you want to work Part-Time (10-20 hours per week) or Full-Time (20-40 hours per week). SPMC uses an online portal for scheduling that makes it easy to check anytime.
