What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Educator position at Seaway Valley Prevention Council?
The Seaway Valley Prevention Council seeks an organized and self-driven individual to serve as a full-time Health Educator.
The Health Educator position is responsible for implementing evidence-based prevention programs with youth and adults in St. Lawrence County, both virtually and in person. This position will implement the Triple P Positive Parenting Program for parents in St. Lawrence County and Teen Intervene for youth in St. Lawrence County school districts. The Health Educator will also participate in agency-wide community events.
Successful candidates must be comfortable maintaining their own schedule and initiating communication with individuals and community agencies. Applicants must also have strong organizational skills, be able to work independently, and be a self-starter. Applicants must be comfortable meeting with individuals, youth and adults, both one-on-one and in small groups. Experience and comfortability with public speaking preferred.
Some night and weekend hours. Travel throughout the county is required. Reliable transportation is necessary.
The minimum requirement is an associate's degree in Education, Public Health, or a related degree.
