Qualifications

Job Summary

• The Outreach Advocate is responsible for providing support and services to victims of sex trafficking and exploitation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide support services to sex trafficking survivors to include but not limited to legal, housing, medical, academic, employment, mental health, sex trade support groups, and transportation.

• Indirect services to document victim services information to the database.

• Provide support for law enforcement when a survivor is identified.

• Participate in the on-call schedule to answer calls on the intake line after hours and on weekends, and to be extra support for residential for duties such as transportation if needed.

• Attend trainings as requested by Outreach Coordinator.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelors Degree is preferred in Social Work, Criminology or Behavioral Sciences.

• Participate in continuing education standards that include a minimum of 8 hours of training per year in trauma, substance abuse and sex trafficking.

• Experience in licensed substance abuse treatment program, trauma informed care program, post-traumatic stress program OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Experience working with victims of sex trafficking is preferred.

• Experience in working effectively in cross-culture setting.

• Clean driving record, preferred.

• Spanish Speaking preferred.

• In the performance of the duties of this job the employee is required to travel (frequency), drive a motor vehicle, communicate using telephone and e-mail.

Work Schedule

• Must have flexible schedule and willing to work some weekends and some overnights.
