Position includes calling on grocery stores in and around but not limited to the Birmingham, AL market.

This is a salaried position with benefits, gas card & car allowance.

Job Purpose:
The Retail Sales Merchandising Rep is responsible for servicing retail accounts within an assigned territory. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, ambitious, and driven to succeed. This person should also have strong communication skills with the confidence to influence key decision makers at store level. They must possess excellent organizational skills and have the ability to work independently.

Job Responsibilities:
Achieving Results
Meeting or exceeding POS to plan goals for assigned stores and markets
Growing POS for client brands by selling incremental display locations, selling the execution of plan-o-grammed locations, executing initiatives as well as maintaining in stock conditions.
Analyzes and develops business sales strategies that identify opportunities to grow sales within their territory.
Consultative Selling
developing and leveraging relationships with key influence and decision makers in stores and markets
Delivering consistent market level contact as per client standards
Effectively gaining front end and main aisle presence of client brands. This is accomplished in conjunction and alignment with store or market personnel so that the primary merchandising and stocking duties are done by store personnel. This collaborative relationship is developed on a mutual interest and business relationship. Organizing and Planning
Administration/Reporting: complete accurate and timely paperwork, reports, recaps, itineraries, expense reports, etc.

Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous retail sales experience in grocery preferred
Demonstrates skills and behaviors pertaining to competencies: Achieving Results, Consultative Selling, Initiative, Organization & Planning
A dynamic, upbeat salesperson that eludes high energy and execution excellence.
Superior verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to translate ideas and concepts into retailer benefits
Strong self-management skills
Has basic computer knowledge
Other Requirements
Must perform the job safely and utilize proper safety techniques and use of equipment when appropriate.
Ability to be flexible, willing to work extended hours and overnight travel when necessary

Driving Requirements:
Driving is an essential duty and function of this job and requires the use of a Personal Vehicle
Must maintain current and valid driver's license and valid proof of current insurance

Physical Demands:
Climb stool or step ladder to reach up to 10 feet in order to obtain/lift/move product
Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs
Occasionally bend and/or stoop, crawl and/or climb, and kneel
Continuously walk, use feet and/or legs for repetitive motion, and use hands and/or arms for repetitive motion.
