We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Scheduler to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing appointments, coordinating schedules, for our dentists, dental assistants and hygientists within our nursing home setting. This position would be the centralized scheduler for different states and nursing homes. This position requires strong administrative skills, communication skills, a solid understanding of dental scheduling, and the ability to handle verification processess while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Must have dental scheduling experience or a dental assistant/hygientist background
- Manage patient scheduling for appointments, ensuring optimal use of time and resources.
- Verify insurance information through our dental software.
- Utilize computer systems to input and update patient information accurately.
- Operate phone systems to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and external providers.
- Verify insurance benefits and coverage.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
- Collaborate with dental staff to optimize scheduling efficiency and patient flow.
- Support administrative tasks that contribute to the overall functionality of the office.
Experience
- A minimum of three years as a dental scheduler
- Must be comfortable on the phone and possess strong customer service skills.
- Proficiency in dental terminology and health information management.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes.
- Proficient in using computer systems for scheduling and administrative tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
