Serenity Hospice Care is looking for an organized and outgoing Volunteer Assistant to join our team! This position will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and closing medical records as needed for patients as well as assisting the Administration team with ongoing projects.
Responsibilities:
- Select and assign volunteers for newly admitted patient/family, with input from the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Call and follow up with potential volunteers and schedule their initial orientation.
- Keep accurate documentation of volunteer assignments including documentation of hours served on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Be available by phone or in person for the volunteer(s) to discuss their role with patients/families.
- Assess the volunteer’s working relationship with the team.
- Insure up to date charting and submission of volunteer progress notes to the office in the required time frame. Contact volunteers when forms are not submitted.
- Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team and attend other staff meetings, as appropriate.
- Ensure volunteer documentation of services to all Hospice patients and families are added to the patient’s medical chart in a timely fashion.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience in overseeing volunteers a plus!
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office.
- Reliable transportation and valid drivers license.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Organized and self motivated.
