Great opportunity to work at an established and growing veterinary hospital in Tampa Bay area. We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and team-orientated people to add to our existing team to provide high quality veterinary medical services and customer service.
Your duties as a Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Technician would include, but not limited to:
- Care for patients in the hospital, boarding dogs, and hospitalized patients
- Bathe, nail trims, anal glands expression and other basic grooming services
- Assist technicians and doctors with restraint of pets, diagnostics and treatments
- Client education of general pet care
- Basic janitorial duties, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of veterinary protocols and products
- Duties may also include working in all areas of the hospital when needed.
This position is open to individuals who enjoy working with companion animals and their owners, in a professional, challenging and focused environment. Previous experience with companion animals is preferred. This position requires a commitment to work weekends and some holidays. A professional, mature, hardworking and an ability to work with others is required.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING: High School Diploma required. Minimum 1-2 year recent related experience preferred, but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Individual will have extended periods of sitting, standing, stretching and bending. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, as will be lifting animals for examinations and surgeries.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Standard office and surgical/hospital environment, with exposure to hazardous chemicals, anesthetics and sharp objects. Potential of exposure to parasites and infectious diseases that can be carried and transmitted by animals.
Minimum 1 year Veterinary Experience preferred, but not required. If you do not have any veterinary clinic experience, please write a cover letter stating any pet care you've provided, even your own pets or volunteering to help us make a decision.

Pay: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour
