Event Coordinator / Tech Assistant

Role : The Event Hosting Assistant will play a key role in creating a welcoming and organized environment for various events hosted at our church.

This position requires flexibility with hours as events may occur during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Position : Part-Time, Non-exempt

Reports to : Property Operations Manager

Responsibilities :

• Open and close the building for scheduled events.
• Set up event spaces according to provided instructions and diagrams.
• Manage audio / video resources such as sound systems, microphones, projectors, and screens.
• Provide excellent customer service to all event attendees, ensuring their needs are met with a friendly and helpful attitude.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of event spaces before, during, and after events.
• Work collaboratively with the event organizers and other staff members to ensure the seamless execution of events.
• Uphold the values of love, compassion, and hospitality in all interactions with community members to reflect the teachings of Jesus.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

• A committed Christian living in accordance with the Bible whose ethics and behavior reflect the values therein
• Is self-motivated, organized, and committed to humble servitude
• Has general knowledge of media equipment, ProPresenter, and their applications in a church setting
• Is a member of Severns Valley
• Agrees with the Constitution and By-Laws of Severns Valley
• Previous experience in event hosting, customer service, or related field is preferred.
• Ability to work varying hours including evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic knowledge of audio / video equipment is a plus.
• A passion for serving others and exemplifying Christian values through hospitality.
