Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time dynamic and experienced fashion designer to join our expanding company. The fashion designer role requires great technical, communication, and leadership skills, to support growth in the design team and company. Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize workload, collaboratively or independently. The ideal candidate must have intermediate to advance CAD designing skills with specialization in apparel.

Responsibilities

• Utilize deep expertise and understanding of fit, patternmaking, grading, technical construction, costing, and fabrics.
• Manage and execute various design collections and projects, including R&D, from concept to finished product within calendar deadlines.
• Design illustrations and as needed tech-packs for new concepts, styles, and collections.
• Maintain and keep current product library with updated material catalogs seasonally.
• Research current retail consumer trends, market trends, and color trends and apply as needed.
• Confidently design and present mood boards with sketches, patterns, images, color, seasonal storytelling, and materials for in person and video line presentations.
• Foster open and collaborative communication with cross functional teams.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to research and translate into designs based on trends and relevant target markets and customers.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and collaborate with other designers to achieve sales and market goals.
• Applying technical knowledge across various intimate apparel categories, including expertise in fabrics, trims, and sewing operations associated with standard product types.
• A trained eye for color, composition, balance, and aesthetic details.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant work experience in apparel design
• Intermediate to advanced CAD experience using Adobe Illustrator – REQUIRED
• Intermediate or advance Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Willing to travel – REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in fashion design or related field
• Flat sketching, pattern making, sewing knowledge/experience, textile knowledge is a plus.
• Field related portfolio.
