Description Summary
The Master Technician needs to embody and embrace the core values and mission statement at Shige’s. They need to be a role model in how they support their team, and the business. They need to mesh well with the technician team and think creatively in order to achieve the company’s goals and targets. It is vital that they take the workshop in as their responsibility, and act professionally with both customers and staff. They need to be punctual and direct. They will be responsible for diagnostic work, quality checking others work, and making floor decisions regarding customer vehicle needs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in the flow of the shop to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Work with the shop management software to ensure project tracking accuracy.
- Ensure efficiency, productivity, and effectivity is maintained in each work order.
- Lead the Quality Check process for work orders to ensure consistency. This can include road testing customer vehicles.
- Perform inspections on customer vehicles in the shop.
- Diagnose and repair automotive systems: including engines, steering, brakes, suspension, transmission, HVAC, etc.
- Ensure that the company safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Communicate with service advisors & SF regarding the status of work orders.
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques
- Maintain knowledge of shop equipment: Wheel & tire machines, alignment rack, diagnostic tools, HVAC, etc.
- Maintains & supply basic personally owned tools in good working order.
- Any advanced tools required will be supplied by the shop.
Requirements
- Minimum of a GED/High School Diploma, with 5 years technician experience
- ASE Master Tech certification or equivalent level certification
- Basic to moderate (preferred) computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work well both alone and with a team
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service and management skills
