Legacy Foundations

Since the mid-1990s, Legacy Foundations, a Shimmick company, has been providing self-perform geotechnical and foundations services on heavy civil projects. Legacy offers competitive pricing, a complete portfolio of deep foundation, slope stabilization, shoring systems, and ground improvement services. On the $875 million HART Airport Guideway and Stations project, Legacy successfully installed 357 feet of 10-foot diameter permanent casing to a bottom of pile elevation of negative 332 feet making deep foundation construction history in North America.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Works with the Company estimating systems and processes.
  • Acquire basic level of understanding of estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for preparing estimates.
  • Recognizes how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact estimates.
  • Under supervision prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates and analysis of subcontractor bids, etc. for projects.
  • Performs duties with limited complexity under direct supervision, such as material take offs, compilation of historical data, etc.
  • Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex estimating assignments including the Estimate Plan.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Drilling experience
  • Experience in Concrete structures, MSE Walls, Rail, Transit, Wastewater
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders
  • Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
