Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tool Room Supervisor to oversee the operations of our tool room. This role is essential in ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly managed, maintained, and available for use in production. As the tool room supervisor, a candidate would be held responsible for organizing a variety of tasks in order to satisfy the tooling requirements of the production department. Tasks and deadlines will be delegated to the tooling department from many different departments within the organization, always with the intention of bolstering the production department. A keen sense of organization and time management is required to lead and manage a team of specialized trades people.
Responsibilities
- Communicating with other supervisors and project leads in order to define the needs of the production floor.
- Scheduling team members appropriately.
- Supervising the creation of consumable production items on a repeating daily and weekly basis.
- The ability to lead their team from a position of understanding, both in practical machine building and organizational methods.
- Supervising the maintenance of machine tools within the tool room.
- Organizing and maintaining minimum quantities of all raw materials, mold building accessories and tooling required to shape materials.
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Ability to operate as a level 2 machinist
- Ability to read and write English.
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of leadership experience.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders within the organization.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, push, bend, crawl, climb and/or squat for 10 hours in a day.
- Must be able to lift up to 25-50 Ibs at a time.
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to work in an office environment, including looking at screens for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing facility environment.
