SHOCK TECH is Hiring a Mechanical Assembler Near Mahwah, NJ

Job Description: Assembling small to medium sized vibration products made of rubber, metal, and plastic parts. Follow assembly instructions, drawings, and bills of materials; using various hand, electric and pneumatic tools. Use, and creation of, assembly jigs to help the process. Trimming, de-burring and light machining; using drill presses, sanders, riveters, grinders. Use of presses (mechanical, electrical and pneumatic) . Also use of specialty tools for Helicoil installations and Brass Eyelet setting using eyelet rolling machine. Majority of daily assembly in clean and climate controlled environment. Frequent repetitive motions will be required.

Responsibilities:.

  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and sub-assemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolve assembly problems and notifying supervisor or engineers for help, or to obtain additional resources.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; notifying for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Train fellow co-workers as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized F.O.D. free workstation
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment) such as, but not limited to, safety glasses, dust masks, respirators, protective gloves, etc.

Requirements/Qualifications:* Technical High School degree, Trade School Certificate, or similar work experience desired.*

  • Some training/classes in Industrial Arts/Technology, auto mechanics, shop class or any other mechanical classes; or some other demonstrated hands-on work experience with tools
  • Knowledge of manufacturing machinery, or willingness to learn
  • Ability to interpret drawings and measure parts by looking at product build specification
  • ability to work alone, and as team.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve tricky assemblies, also to know what is the right tool for the job.
  • Will train the right individual
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish very desirable, but not required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
