Responsibilities:
Culinary Leadership:
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, development, and execution, ensuring all dishes align with Gallion's high standards.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing hands-on leadership, training, and mentorship to maintain consistency and quality.
Daily Operations:
- Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, station management, and service execution.
- Maintain an organized and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring the team operates cohesively during service.
Quality Assurance:
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure every dish reflects Gallion’s commitment to excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Inventory and Cost Control:
- Manage inventory, ordering, and storage to minimize waste and control food costs.
- Assist in developing and maintaining budgets for kitchen operations.
Problem Solving:
- Address challenges swiftly and effectively, maintaining a calm and positive kitchen environment.
- Adapt to guest preferences and special requests, creating a memorable dining experience.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or comparable role in an upscale dining environment.
- Proven track record in leadership, menu development, and kitchen operations.
Culinary Expertise:
- Strong understanding of diverse cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and plating aesthetics.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Leadership Skills:
- Exceptional ability to motivate, train, and collaborate with a team.
