Responsibilities:

  1. Culinary Leadership:

    • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, development, and execution, ensuring all dishes align with Gallion's high standards.
    • Supervise kitchen staff, providing hands-on leadership, training, and mentorship to maintain consistency and quality.
  2. Daily Operations:

    • Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, station management, and service execution.
    • Maintain an organized and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring the team operates cohesively during service.
  3. Quality Assurance:

    • Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure every dish reflects Gallion’s commitment to excellence.
    • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  4. Inventory and Cost Control:

    • Manage inventory, ordering, and storage to minimize waste and control food costs.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining budgets for kitchen operations.
  5. Problem Solving:

    • Address challenges swiftly and effectively, maintaining a calm and positive kitchen environment.
    • Adapt to guest preferences and special requests, creating a memorable dining experience.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or comparable role in an upscale dining environment.
    • Proven track record in leadership, menu development, and kitchen operations.
  • Culinary Expertise:

    • Strong understanding of diverse cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and plating aesthetics.
    • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Leadership Skills:

    • Exceptional ability to motivate, train, and collaborate with a team.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Time Management:

    • Effective organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
