Job Summary
The Engineering Manager will oversee the development of residential and light commercial projects while coordinating the daily operations of highly skilled engineering staff. They will lead and coordinate the activities of the drafting associates, senior drafters, and all other support staff as appropriate, to ensure the company objectives and goals are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new engineering staff.
Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Duties/Responsibilities
Leads and coordinate various engineering functions and operations including quality
assurance, testing, production, and research and development of new and existing
product lines.
Facilitates communication between the sales department, customers and engineering
department, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated
and understood.
Reviews blueprints, product specs, and structural calculations for technical accuracy.
Establishes, implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best
practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production
efficiency.
Monitors construction design and procedures for cost savings and code compliance
Maintains good standing with state accreditation and permitting.
Continuing education coordinator and instructor
Establishes and maintains company relationships with third-party inspectors and
engineers.
