SUMMARY:
The Public Area Supervisor oversees the operation of the department, assigning daily cleaning duties to team members and completing administrative duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assign daily cleaning duties to staff.
- Inspect all areas of the casino, public areas, and team member areas to ensure cleanliness.
- Inventory and order all required cleaning supplies for use by the Public Area team.
- Carry radio and answer all requests from departments.
- Perform the duties of an Casino Porter as needed.
- Lead by example and handle any problems that may arise.
- Must be knowledgeable in the proper use of commercial cleaning chemicals, vacuums, pan brooms, mopping and proper sanitation of surfaces.
- Able to understand MSDS sheets and safety regulations.
- Keep open lines of communication with Executive Housekeeper, Chief Engineer, and Security management.
- Assists Guests with any questions they may have or requests.
- Maintain an open line of communication with Supervisors and Managers concerning all Housekeeping and Guest Service related issues.
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with fellow Team Members, Guests and Vendors.
- Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
- Other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees the daily tasks of Public Area team members. Must be able to communicate well in all conditions, and able to respond in a positive manner to guest or team member issues, ensuring all guests receive the best possible experience. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum one year of previous supervisory experience in housekeeping or environmental services.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to effectively communicate in English and Spanish.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of Synergy preferred.
MACHINERY USED
Vacuum, mop, cleaning chemicals.
