What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Phlebotomist Z3 position at Simple Laboratories?

This is a mobile Phlebotomist role, responsible for driving/ commuting between assigned facilities to perform specimen collection of blood and urine from patients as assigned. Mileage reimbursement provided. 
 
Location: Northern Chicago Area 
 
Work Shifts available:
  • Monday - Friday - 8am-4pm with rotating weekends
  • Monday- Friday - 12pm-8pm with rotating weekends
  • Monday - Friday - 4am-12pm with rotating weekends

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Customer Service – being both patient- and client-facing. This position role is in an independent clinic setting, and you are a representative of the company to both patients and the client.
  •  Independent / remote work requiring reliable transportation to facilities. Must be comfortable to ask questions via the main laboratory by calling and interacting with sales and customer service based in headquarters.
  • This position may require Observed Urine and Blood collection.
  • Arrange daily activities based on urgency of requests for fluid samples.
  • Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents, or other means.
  • Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age. Must be comfortable with all age groups especially elderly patients.
  •  Reassure patients and help them relax.
  • Find veins that are suitable for venipuncture.
  • Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment.
  • Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples.
  • Label samples correctly, process, package for delivery to the lab.
  • Answer patient questions and provide useful information.
  • Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests.
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each, but not limited to, essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • 1 year of phlebotomy
  • High School or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record for the last 5 years
  • Proof of current auto liability insurance
Language skills: Can communicate with all levels in the company and at the client offices.
