Sisters of the Holy Cross Inc. is currently hiring for a PRN (as needed) Driver.
Main Function:
To transport novices to school, appointments, trainings, or other events as assigned.

Transportation Duties
Education
A high school diploma preferred.
Experience
Must possess a valid driver’s license at all times. Must also have an excellent driving record, thorough knowledge of the Michiana area, and ability to evaluate/maintain automobiles.
Responsibility
Failure to follow proper laws could result in bodily injury and legal ramifications; improper planning could cause delay; failure to follow preventative maintenance schedule could lead to financial loss.

Routine work following general instruction.
Personal Interaction
Work requires giving/getting information while maintaining a cooperative and harmonious atmosphere.
Work Environment
Occasionally encounters inclement weather or difficult driving conditions.
Equipment Utilization
Routinely required to operate automotive equipment.
Hazards or Fatigue
Ordinary care and caution must be exercised while driving. Occasional muscle fatigue or backache may result after prolonged activity.

Primarily works on a daily schedule; rearranges schedule due to emergency situations.

Transportation Duties
- Use appropriate vehicles as indicated on schedule to transport novices to school, appointments, trainings, or other events.
- Follows schedule accurately and checks with Novice Director for approval of changes needed.
- Assist passengers in and out of vehicles, require seat belt use, and follow safety guidelines.
- Gives assistance based on individual physical condition of passengers; assists passengers with seat belts; follows safety rules in assisting passengers.
- Drive carefully following all driving laws and regulations.
- Follows driving laws and regulations.
- Communicate with Novice Director to confirm passenger pick up. Report problems or delays.
- Reports in a timely way and reports information accurately and confidentially. Does not carry on unnecessary conversation.
- Check and service vehicles for the day. (i.e., gas, oil, radiator levels, etc., adding as needed)
- Each day vehicles are prepared and ready 15 minutes before first pick up.
- Do minor repair of headlights, turn signals, windshield wipers and fluid, etc.
- Checks accurately and completes minor repairs before vehicle use daily.
- Report malfunctions of vehicles that require maintenance at a garage. Take vehicles periodically for scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Follows established procedure for preventive maintenance; reports problems in a timely way and follows procedures for maintenance needed at a service garage.
- Keep assigned vehicles vacuumed, washed and polished.
- Upon inspection, vehicles are clean, washed and polished.
- Maintains professional image; information is kept confidential. Drivers demonstrate great sense of integrity.
- Maintains attendance and observes working hours, starting time, lunch period, breaks, quitting time, etc.
- Complies with work rules, regulations, and instructions, follows established systems and procedures, completes assignments with minimal supervision.
