JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: COMMUNITY EDUCATOR
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Sell medical equipment, products, and services.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Advise clients or customers
  • Analyze sales activities or trends
  • Answer customer or public inquiries
  • Apply interpersonal communication techniques
  • Apply product knowledge to marketing of goods
  • Apply sales techniques
  • Apply interpersonal communication techniques
  • Apply telephone and electronic communication as sales tool
  • Identify best product for customer’s needs
  • Apply customer service techniques
  • Apply principles or theories of business management
  • Apply knowledge of medical terminology
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner and in accordance with company policies
  • Conduct or attend staff meetings
  • Apply technical sales techniques
  • Conduct sales presentations
  • Sell products or services
  • Apply knowledge of written communication in sales work
  • Demonstrate goods and services
  • Obtain information from individuals
  • Consult with managerial personnel
  • Maintain records, reports, or files
  • Prepare list of prospective customers
  • Process paperwork

TASKS include:

  • Resolve customer complaints
  • Confer with potential clients regarding equipment needs and advise customers on types of equipment to purchase
  • Represent Sleep Solutions at trade shows
  • Promote sale of medical equipment, supplies and service to doctors, hospitals and offices

WORK SCHEDULE: Typically Monday thru Friday 8 hours shifts with after hours required as needed

SUPERVISOR: Director of Business Relations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION OR KNOWLEDGE:

  • College Degree preferred
  • Basic math skills
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of durable medical equipment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products and/or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems

EXPERIENCE OR SKILLS:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • The employee is required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee is required to spend most of their day driving from appointment to appointment. May have to drive in inclement weather.
