Assistant Manager

Sloan’s Ice Cream is looking for a fast-paced, energetic, and organized Assistant Manager to be part of our “Wonderland for the young and the young at heart”. Job Responsibilities:

· Work with Store Managers and/or Owner to oversee daily store operations including sales monitoring, sales forecasting, and budgeting of labor

· Understand and improve Key Performance Indicators relating to sales and expenses

· Spearhead new initiatives including marketing, community involvement, or operational upgrades

· Coordinating cross-location communication to share ideas and best practices among staff

· Provide support to Store Managers as necessary to maintain uninterrupted operations during peak season, PTO, staff shortages, and other unforeseen events

· Maintain proficiency in all store operations to be able to fluidly move between Assistant Manager and front line positions as necessary

· Evaluate and negotiate with Multi-store vendors to ensure quality and timeliness of work and accuracy of billing

· Will be fully trained for ordering candy products and merchandise from select vendors

· Will be fully trained for in-store chocolate production, caramel apples and specialty items

· Order and oversee inventory transfers of items held in central warehouse (packaging, toys, etc.)

· Communicating with the Owner about store performance, goals, requests and any difficulties, problems, or concerns

Job Requirements:

· Must have 5 years of restaurant and/or retail management experience

· Strong business intellectand understanding of store operations

· Exceptional customer service and sales skills

· Strong communication skills

· Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Word and Excel

· High school graduate, college degree is a significant plus

· Motivated to accomplish sales, labor, customer service and store appearance goals and standards

· Critical thinking skills to multi-task in a fast paced environment

· Passionate about training and building a strong environment of teamwork and responsibility

· Ability to work varied hours/days as required by the business including nights, weekends and holidays

· This job may require you to lift objects up to 50 pounds
