What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Back position at Slow Hand Food & Drink?
Slow Hand is seeking a Bar Back!
We are located at 30 n church st.
We do not hire anyone under the age of 21 years old.
A Southern-style fine dining restaurant and craft cocktail bar, our focuses include: high-quality ingredients; well thought out dishes and drinks; company culture of kindness and care; and giving nothing but top-tier guest experience.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who wants to become a bartender. They are punctual, professional, and organized. They will exhibit the qualities of someone who has a deep love of the service industry, multiple years of experience, and an overall need to be better than they were the day before.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing top tier guest experience, seeking moments for spontaneous hospitality
- Constantly learning and growing their knowledge of alcohol, food and how to pair the two
- Having a clear understanding of mise en place, keeping a clean and organized bar
- Practices mindfulness and has the patience of a monk
- Delegating tasks to bar-backs and checking in on their progress to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Handle volume, multi-task, and work efficiently when under pressure
- Support bartenders throughout the shift to ensure excellent and efficient service for our guests
- Refill low and empty and bar stocks such as liquor, wine, beer, fruit, garnishes etc.
- Change kegs
- Clear plates, glassware, silver etc. when guests are finished with their meals
- Clean and replenish glass supply
- Restock ice
- Assist with preparation of syrups, mixers, garnishes, etc. as needed
- Assist with bar closing and cleaning duties
- Outgoing and engaging personality
- Proactive at identifying and completing work needs
- Ability to assess station needs and act accordingly
