Reporting to the sales manager, the sales representative, will play a critical role in expanding the company’s customer base, increasing sales revenue, and identifying new business opportunities, and will be responsible for developing and managing a strong sales pipeline to achieve maximum capacity for the company’s warehousing and transportation operations, as well as working closely with dispatch operators, managers, and drivers, along with owner/operators, to ensure warehouses and transport pipelines are filled to support company growth.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Generate new business by prospecting, qualifying, and closing sales opportunities.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
Conduct market research to identify potential sales channels and opportunities.
Manage a portfolio of accounts, ensuring high customer satisfaction and retention.
Work with dispatch and operations teams to meet customer needs and expectations.
Drive revenue growth by meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets.
Implement strategies to upsell and cross-sell within existing customer accounts.
Monitor sales metrics and adjust strategies to optimize revenue outcomes.
Collaboration and Coordination, and coordinate with dispatch operators and managers to ensure efficient fulfillment.
Collaborate with Drivers and Owner/Operators to align on capacity and scheduling.
Work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues impacting service or delivery.
Reporting and Analysis Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) in weekly meetings.
Analyze sales data and pipeline activity to inform strategic decisions.
Prepare detailed sales forecasts and pipeline reports for leadership.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in logistics, transportation, or warehousing.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in CRM and sales software; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel to meet clients and attend industry events as required.
