Position Summary:
The Medical Clinic Manager (MMED) reports to the Director of Medical Operations and is responsible for administering, managing, planning and coordinating all clinical activities, management of patient care staff, provider relations, and patient relations for the medical clinic. The Medical Clinic Manager supervises the Medical Clinic Staff. The Medical Clinic Manager oversees daily operations of the clinic including but not limited to development and management of services, quality improvement/assurance, expenditures, work schedules and staff development, while collaborating closely with other department leaders to ensure process efficiency and effectiveness.
Essential Functions:
- Serves as liaison between Medical Providers and Medical Clinic Staff
- Performs management duties including recruiting, onboarding, timekeeping, performance evaluations, coaching and progressive discipline as needed, using SNAHC prescribed best practices.
- Collaborates with Patient Services, Population Health, Referrals, Health Information Management (HIM), Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH, and other departments as needed.
- Administers policies and procedures that are in alignment with the Health Center’s mission and accreditation
- Maintains responsibility and oversight of productivity and performance of Medical Assistants and other Clinic Staff within their reporting line, ensuring appropriate productivity and quality of care.
- Participates in system and record quality improvement projects for the Medical Department.
- Responsible for the coordination of daily clinic activities including patient flow, screening of walk-ins, and patient emergencies.
- Monitors and ensures daily departmental opening and closing procedures are followed.
- Oversees the inventory of Medical Department equipment, storage areas, medications, emergency kit and supplies.
- Ensures that the Vaccine Coordinator’s records contain accurate, up to date information.
- Monitors staff compliance with universal precautions and OSHA standards; identifying and coordinating the correction of hazards; and training department staff on required elements and changes.
- In coordination with the Safety Coordinator, serves as the department expert in safety procedures and functions as the departmental lead for fire drills and mock code exercises.
- Ensures direct reports’ adherence to department and agency policies, procedures and protocols, including, but not limited to HIPAA compliance and maintenance of confidentiality.
- Performs management duties including recruiting, onboarding, timekeeping, performance evaluations, coaching and progressive discipline as needed, using SNAHC prescribed best practices.
- Actively participates in and leads internal quality improvement teams. Works with members proactively to drive quality improvement initiatives in accordance with the mission and strategic goals of the organization, federal and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Oversees delegated grant activities and reporting, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and timely submission of reports and deliverables.
- Completes Board of Director (BOD) reports, and other delegated reporting responsibilities.
- At all times demonstrates cooperative behavior with supervisors, subordinates, colleagues, clients and the community. Comply with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to the position including; HIPAA, sexual harassment, Scope of Practice, OSHA, SCAR reporting, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of management experience with administrative experience in a medical clinic.
- 2 years of experience working in community health setting or related experience.
- Experience with electronic health record.
- Experience with Program Management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid California Medical Assistant Certification
- Bilingual
- Experience in an FQHC setting
- Knowledge of traditional, cultural and spiritual practices of the diverse AI/AN community, as well as ability to work with other racially, culturally, ethnically, and financially diverse populations.
- NextGen experience.
