What are the responsibilities and job description for the Non Destructive Inspection Technician II position at SNC?
You'll be responsible for performing non-destructive inspections, identifying and classifying relevant indications, following applicable tech data and processes and completing required forms and documents. Your inspection authority will be limited to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures that you are certified to under NAS-410. When not performing nondestructive inspection (NDI) duties, you will assist other maintenance personnel with various aviation requirements.
Must-haves:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- NAS-410 Level II certification or the training and experience to be able to immediately be certified to NAS-410 Level II.
- Experience with NDI equipment, processes, and procedures.
- Experience with Eddy Current Testing (ECT) which is a non-destructive method used in the aerospace industry to detect flaws in conductive materials.
- Experience with aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts
- Basic understanding of audit and inspection processes and procedures.
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command restriction requirements for deployed locations
- Ability to deploy for a minimum of 90 days to various OCONUS operating locations.
- Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
- An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required to start
Preferred:
- Exposure to aviation maintenance and/or inspection operations processes and procedures.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
