What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Coordinator - Waypoint position at Society of St. Vincent de Paul?
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for marketing the availability of units in the facility, identifying potential residents, coordinating lease signings for potential residents, issuing non-compliances for lease violations, overseeing day-to-day operations of the facility, managing building staff, appropriately communicating maintenance concerns, and maintaining the safety of all residents/staff in the building.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Communications Department, SVDP VA GPD staff and external community partners to market availability of open units and identify potential residents in Waypoint House
- Develop and maintain key relationships with organizations that may refer potential residents
- Conduct frequent visits in the community to make contact with potential veterans seeking affordable housing.
- Gather leasing application documents from potential building residents and collaborate with housing specialist to complete lease signings
- Manage daily operations of the SVDP Waypoint House to ensure client safety, compliance with leases, and building maintenance
- Manage Waypoint House staff responsibilities including scheduling, training, monthly supervision, and assignment of shift duties.
- Maintain effective communication with Associate Director of Crisis Housing regarding Waypoint House Operations.
- Demonstrate crisis intervention and solution-focused approaches to issues/concerns that may arise; ability to triage issues
- Provide general oversight of facility including coordination with maintenance department and reporting any emergency situations
- Perform scheduled inspections of the buildings and immediate grounds to ensure compliance with all health, safety, and fire standards
- Oversee general condition of buildings and equipment along with its upkeep and maintenance
- Maintain an adequate supply inventory and the approval of all necessary work orders
- Maintain accurate and thorough records including client intake forms, resident files, monthly reports, program fees and required leasing documents
- Identify and build community partnerships to optimize effective and efficient marketing of affordable housing units for Veterans.
- Identify, communicate and assist in the facilitation of volunteer opportunities
- Provide Associate Director of Crisis Housing with assistance in the development of policies, reports and procedures related to residents housed at Waypoint House
- Assist Development department with administering grant funds or donation opportunities that may benefit Waypoint House.
- Other duties as assigned

- Speak effectively and provide clear and concise written reports
- Excellent organizational skills including planning, budgeting and computer skills
Reporting to this position: 3-5 Program Aides
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution
- A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted
- Veteran Status or Experience working with Veterans (Preferred)
- Knowledge and training in working with homeless, chemical dependency, mental illness and crisis intervention techniques
- Relevant work experience with individuals in a social work environment or related field a plus
- Experience in managerial or project management role
- Commitment to the mission and goals of St Vincent de Paul
- Experience in leasing/property management a plus
- Successfully pass any required pre-employment background and drug screening
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must maintain personal auto insurance and be insurable to drive SVDP vehicles
