Chemical Production Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemical Production Engineer to join our team and spearhead process improvement projects within our chemical plant operations. This role is essential for enhancing the safety, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency of our processes. As a key member of our production team, you will have the opportunity to lead process hazard analysis re-validations, participate in safety management activities, and drive continuous improvements across the plant. This position offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive environment focused on professional growth and operational excellence.

Compensation: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide daily production support for continuous chemical operations, which includes troubleshooting and solving process equipment issues.
  • Oversee plant controls, equipment, and distributed control systems to ensure optimal operation and safety.
  • Conduct process trials and spearhead process improvement projects aimed at enhancing plant efficiencies and capabilities.
  • Manage and champion continuous improvements in safety, productivity, quality, reliability, and cost reduction.
  • Lead process hazard analysis (PHA) re-validations to assess risks and ensure compliance with industry safety standards.
  • Participate in and lead activities related to Process Safety Management (PSM), including audits and compliance checks.

Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in chemical or polymer plant manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical process operations, OSHA regulations, and Process Safety Management (PSM) practices.
  • Experience with key unit operations such as reaction, distillation, filtration, polymerization, crystallization, and separation.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting reactors, heat exchangers, tanks, separators, crystallizers, centrifuges, filters, and pumbs.
  • Legal authorization to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working towards or already possessing a Professional Chemical Engineer License.
  • Advanced experience in control system management and process optimization.
  • Proven track record of leading safety initiatives and implementing quality control procedures that align with regulatory standards.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to manage multitiered teams and projects efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in documenting process flows and improvements.
  • Capability to lead cross-functional teams during process audits and compliance evaluations.
