Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day production support for batch and continuous chemical operations, including troubleshooting and problem-solving for process and equipment issues.
- Monitor production yields, perform mass balances, and manage data for production analysis.
- Lead process improvement projects targeting safety, productivity, quality, reliability, and cost reduction.
- Support process downtimes and operational runtime optimization.
- Engage in production, material planning, packaging, shipping, and receiving processes to enhance efficiency.
- Participate actively in Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives and compliance audits.
- Implement and manage change processes including Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Start Safety Reviews (PSSR), P&IDs, hazard reviews, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Lead incident investigations and spearhead problem-solving sessions across various operational facets such as safety, quality, production, and reliability.
- Assist in the development and training of operational teams to ensure peak performance and adherence to industry standards.
- BS in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Process/Production Engineer in a PSM-regulated chemical plant.
- Demonstrated knowledge of chemical process operations including reactors, distillation, polymerization, esterification, and other unit operations.
- Legal authorization to work in the USA without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven track record in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), and P&IDs.
- Strong familiarity with safety and quality control processes, including SPC and SQC.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills for effective decision-making and process evaluations.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and training.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
- Adept in using software tools for process management and data analysis.
