SOLON Corporation, a leader in the design and installation of commercial and utility scale solar photovoltaic systems in the southwest US, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team. The Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the management of procurement, installation, and commissioning of commercial and utility scale solar photovoltaic projects.
Location:
- Tucson or Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with Director of Construction, VP of Engineering, and business development team to transition projects from contract execution to engineering, permitting and construction.
- Interface with project clients and stakeholders to finalize project designs and develop construction site plans and schedules.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage project agreements and subcontracts.
- Draft, manage, and track project schedules in Microsoft Project as required.
- Ensure compliance with project budgets with a margin-aggressive approach.
- Manage all aspects of project procurement to ensure projects are constructed within budget, and all materials are delivered in compliance with project schedule requirements.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and internal construction teams to ensure work is completed within established safety, quality, schedule, and profitability standards.
- Effectively manage client relationships and attend coordination, preconstruction, and weekly construction meetings as required.
- Ensure proper processing of documentation for all project activities.
- Develop cost estimates and schedules as required to support project proposals and RFQ responses.
- Manage project warranty and O&M activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering discipline, construction management, or similar. Equivalent career experience shall be considered in lieu of this requirement.
- 5 years demonstrated success in construction project management role.
- 5 years experience in the Commercial and Utility scale solar photovoltaic field
- Commercial/industrial electrical and heavy civil construction experience is highly desired.
- Experience with commercial and government procurement and contracting, local and national building codes, and local jurisdiction building permit processes.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and experience in electrical equipment procurement.
- Thorough knowledge of all applicable federal and local safety regulations.
- Must be very detail-oriented and able to effectively manage multiple project commitments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Ability to travel as needed. Frequent travel (in-state and out-of-state) is expected.
