The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions within the wholesale division, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with regulations, and efficient reporting processes. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze financial data to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reports.
- Review financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Post journal entries and adjustments to the ledger.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Work closely with procurement and sales teams to manage vendor and customer accounts.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue payments.
- Work with inventory teams to ensure accurate tracking of goods and related costs.
- Review and analyze cost structures to identify discrepancies or opportunities for cost control.
- Prepare inventory reconciliations and address issues related to inventory management.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.

- Prepare ad hoc financial reports for senior management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting or supervisory role.
- Experience with wholesale industry accounting processes and inventory management.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, financial modeling, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, vendors, and management.
Preferred Skills:
