What are the responsibilities and job description for the IMMEDIATE OPENING - VIRTUAL LCMFT/LCSW-C/LCPC/LCPAT/LCADC position at Sonja Williams and Associates?
- Classification— Exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
- Reports to—Executive Director
- Summary/objective—Therapist/Counselor is expected to practice independent professional mental health services within the knowledge, theory and training foundations of their professional licensure.
- Competency—
- Provide individual, family, couples and group therapy to a diverse population via virtual platform.
- Perform mental health assessments, formulate diagnosis, develop treatment plans and provide ongoing therapy, as required and state/jurisdiction licensing regulations.
- Develop and complete treatment plans according to best practice mental health standards.
- Maintain files in appropriate manner and comply with the record keeping expectations of the company.
- Practice culturally sensitive, inclusive and equitable engagement with diverse clients, clinical team members and staff.
- Exhibit knowledge of counseling techniques, ethical principals and best practice therapeutic modalities.
- Consult with primary care providers, psychiatrists and/or other specialists concerning treatment plans and amends plans appropriately if necessary.
- Complies with state telehealth regulations, HIPPA laws and other state and federal privacy regulations.
- Supervisory responsibilities—TBD
- Work environment—Telehealth platform and post pandemic placement in the Largo or Silver Spring, MD offices.
- Physical demands—Primarily a sedentary position.
- Position type and expected hours of work—Full-time or Part-time Contractor position; Client contact expectation is between 7 - 30 therapy hours per week.
- Required education and experience—Master’s degree or higher. Must hold full, current, and unrestricted license to practice independently in Maryland and/or DC.
- Additional eligibility qualifications—Must be available some evenings. Must be able to be credentialed through the major health insurance companies.
