What are the responsibilities and job description for the PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT (10-month or 12-month Position) position at South Coast Educational Collaborative?
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement individualized treatment plans for students
Maintain adaptive equipment used by students
Assist physical therapist to complete student evaluations in accordance with Collaborative guidelines
Assist physical therapist to develop IEP goals and objectives
Complete daily service documentation including student attendance and billing
Collect data on student performance daily and utilize data collected to monitor student progress.
Write professional progress reports
Participate in clinical supervision as assigned
Work with other members of the team to determine instructional methods
Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process
Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the Collaborative
Create a therapeutic environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students
Manage student behavior
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents/guardians and community members
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills
Keep informed of and comply with state and Collaborative regulations and policies for educators
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required
Request support when necessary
Other student-related assigned responsibilities as needed
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

Completion of DESE mandated training
