Teacher Assistants

South Shore Early Education and Care a program of the South Shore Community Action Council - a private non-profit on the South Shore, Cape and Islands, South Shore Early Education and Care in Plymouth seeks three full-time (preferred) certified Teacher Assistant candidates, 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. All benefits apply. Base rate with DEEC Teacher certification only-$20.88/hr., increased pay rates commensurate with experience, licenses and degree (AA/BA).
Core Duties: Assist classroom teacher to create and maintain a safe and healthy physical environment that fosters the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. Perform teaching activities under supervision of the teacher, while assuming a lead role in working with varying groups of children. Meal assistance, bus monitor and other various activities as assigned.
Core Qualifications: Massachusetts DEEC Teacher Certification required & related experience of minimum two years in preschool or similar program. AA/AS degree preferred, or in process in early education or related field BA/BS considered. Bi-lingual (Portuguese, Arabic or Spanish) is preferred although not required. Must speak and understand English.
Minimum Requirements at employment:
· All candidates must undergo a CORI, DCF, SORI, and fingerprint background check; prior to beginning employment.
· Date of posting 11/19/24, deadline to apply 12/6/24 or until a suitable candidate is found.
· Valid MA state driver’s license.
· Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
