Position Summary
  • This role is part of a matrixed work environment where coordination, collaboration, development and planning with System Director Cancer Services (strategy), System Clinical Director of Cancer Services (strategy/nursing) and Chief Operating Executive is required for providing excellent patient care. The Director of Operations Oncology, Breast Services and other related Medical Specialties will have direct oversight of the Oncology Physicians services, breast center, palliative care, pulmonary and critical care and pathology physician services ensuring compliance with all regulations, efficient operation, financial and budgetary planning and appropriate levels of staffing and scheduling.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field, BSN preferred
  • Master’s degree in healthcare related field or business preferred

Licenses and Certification
  • Relevant clinical licensure (e.g. R.N.)

Experience and Skills

  • Technical Field: 5 years experience
  • Medical group Operations Leadership: 5 years experience

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with providers, departmental leaders and hospital and medical group administration in the development and operationalizing of new programs, the growth of existing programs, develop staffing plans, and evaluate effectiveness to ensure optimal outcomes and growth that meet patient expectations and financials targets.
  • Collaborates and approves recommendations for capital, operating, and staffing budgets from department leaders.
  • Collaborates with providers and departmental leaders to ensure consistent and appropriate processes/protocols to meet clinical and departmental needs, compliance standards, and patient expectations.
  • Hold department leaders/practice manger accountable for responding to patient complaints; collaborate with department leaders in determining analyze and determine necessity to elevate the complaint based on situation, potential risk, effective resolution, or clinical concerns.
  • Manages individuals including but not limited to hires, training, work assignments, managing evaluation and performance, and professional development plans.
  • Monitors, measures, assesses and improves department performance using patient experience data, SIH reports of budgeted vs worked hours, RVU reports, revenue cycle and denial committee meetings, compliance with productivity targets, as well as other EHR and statistical reports.
  • Maximize revenue potential and ensure service line profitability.
  • Provides fiscal oversight of allocated resources, assets, and expenses. Makes necessary decisions to adjust for variations in projected revenues/income caused by fluctuating volumes and other external forces.
  • Provides leadership to direct reports in the execution of work plans, long and short-term goals. Provides guidance to departmental leaders in the implementation of changes in processes.
  • Provides ongoing recognition, feedback and development, holding staff accountable for success. Identify and mentor future organizational leaders. Ensure appropriate resources are provided to staff and create an environment where Employee Engagement and feedback facilitates positive change.

Compensation (Commensurate with experience):

$137,945.60 - $220,708.80
