General Description:
Delivery Drivers are responsible for the safe, accurate delivery of products to our customers.
Duties Include:
- Safely operate a box truck less than 26,000 pounds. (CDL not required)
- Picking up, driving, delivering and unloading per daily designated routes.
- Customer service – deliver product, unload product, accept payments, record check # or other payment method on invoice, take customer complaints.
- Monitor the need for maintenance or major repairs by completing the Pre & Post Trip Inspection checklist for each trip.
- Maintain safe operation and clean appearance by complying with company operational policies, procedures, and standards.
- Interface with shipping and receiving personnel to ensure timely deliveries, including pulling orders, receiving and putting away product.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Delivery Driver Requirements:
- Must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
- Ability to consistently follow store policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and complete instructions.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced customer service-oriented environment.
- Team-Player: Works well as a member of a group.
- Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Authorized to work in the USA and at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving history.
- Ability to pass a state Department of Transportation medical exam.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Some distribution supply experience preferred.
- Some computer skills preferred, data entry skills a plus.
- Commitment to service beyond the expectations of our customers.
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Lifting: Frequent lifting over 50 pounds from ground to chest high.
- Frequent squatting, bending, and twisting.
- Sitting/driving for extended periods of time.
- Able to read tickets and perform work listed.
- Environment: Work in an environment that is not climate controlled. Temperatures range from extremely hot to extremely cold, depending on the season.
- Vision (Near, distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception).
- Sense of sound (Alarms, horns and motorized equipment).
- PPE: Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety Glasses, gloves).
