POSITION PURPOSE
Our credit union tellers are frontline employees who interact directly with members of our credit union. They ensure that members are promptly and professionally served. Their primary responsibilities include:
- Cash Handling: Processing various financial transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments. They must accurately count and handle cash, checks, and other financial instruments.
- Member Service: Assisting members with their credit union needs, providing information on account balances, transactions, and credit union products. They also address member inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive member experience.
- Account Management: Assisting members in opening new accounts, updating account information, and closing accounts. They must ensure that all necessary documentation and procedures are followed.
- Verification: Verifying the authenticity of checks, identification, and other documents presented by members. This helps prevent fraudulent activities and ensures compliance with credit union regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of transactions, balancing cash drawers at the end of each day. Attention to etail is crucial to ensure accurate financial records.
- Sales: Promoting and cross-selling credit union products and services, such as savings accounts, credit cards, or loans.
- Technology Use: Using various credit union systems and software to process transactions and access member account information. They should be comfortable using computers and other technology.
- Security: Following security protocols to protect the credit union and its members from potential risks.
- Compliance: Credit union tellers must adhere to credit union regulations and policies to ensure legal and ethical practices. This includes understanding and following anti-money laundering (AML) and knowing our member (KYC) procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Working as part of a team, collaborating with other credit union employees to provide comprehensive credit union services. Effective communication and teamwork are essential.
