What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor position at Southland Credit Union?
Role
Will work under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Facilities in running the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Department for the credit union. The Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor will help ensure the safety and security of Members, Associates and others on-site at all Southland Credit Union locations. Assists in the oversight of vendor management and facilities related systems. Monitor and maintain the buildings, grounds and workflow for safety and security. Act as the primary contact for facilities related vendors and contract workers. Plan projects as needed from conception to implementation and perform all tasks according to the department’s strategic goals.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the Senior Director of Facilities in running the day-to-day facilities operations of the credit union.
- Act as the primary contact on facilities projects within the scope outlined by the Senior Director of Facilities and/or Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
- Assists the Senior Director of Facilities with building/branch maintenance, as well as the surrounding grounds, coordinates the repair and maintenance of all Facilities Systems such as HVAC, plumbing, power, sewer, signage and lighting.
- Accountable for maintaining company property and assets records. Ensuring they are properly tagged, recorded, and dispositions are authorized. Responsible for coordinating movement of all furniture, property, assets with weights over 50 lbs.
- Serve as backup for all credit union documentation imaging. Ensures that each facility and facility grounds is safe, clean, free of trash and debris, in working order, and in compliance with federal and local codes and laws.
- Perform basic maintenance repairs as needed at all credit union facilities
- Keep Senior Director of Facilities and CFO informed of any issues that affect department.
- Serves as a resource for needed information such as blueprints, electrical boxes, digital floorplans, etc.
- Performs and/or provides service for all messenger, postal and package related duties such as pick-up and delivery, weighing and calculating postage, maintaining postage machine and sorting and distributing such documents, packages, letters, or goods.
- Assist in the maintenance of office supplies, tools, forms, paper inventories and in-house document inventory, including preparation for off-site shipment and retrieval requests, receiving shipments and fulfilling department purchasing requests as well as responsible for processing document storage bins for shredding.
- Oversight of the Vendor Management Program/software.
Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required
Knowledge and Skills
Experience: A typical background for obtaining the requisite knowledge, abilities and experience is Five years of experience in a facilities/maintenance coordinator or similar role. One year of supervisory experience is required.
Education: AA Degree preferred. A high school education or GED is required. OSHA Certification is required or obtained within first year of employment.
Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
