Southwest Traders, Inc. is a full service distribution company delivering fresh, frozen, and dry products to national accounts, specialty ice cream & yogurt shops, juice & smoothie bars. SWT now has full distribution centers in CA, CO & TX.
Fast paced Food Service Distributor is currently seeking experienced Class A Delivery Drivers for our Distribution Center. We are seeking experienced, dependable, organized, team players preferably with a background in rout delivery services in food distribution. Some routes are provided with a helper to support the delivery process. Our local routes allow Drivers to be home daily. |
RESPONSIBILITIES |
A Southwest Traders delivery driver must be able to execute dispatch assignments, fulfill customer expectations and adhere to specific delivery procedures in accordance to company policy. The driver will be responsible for delivering a variety of products to accounts within a designated area. Multiple stops are required throughout the day that requires frequent exits and entry to and from the truck cab to conduct manual unloading of products. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: · Unloading and delivery of frozen, chilled and dry food products to customer locations within assigned route · Making back hauls, equipment returns or exchanges, assisting co-workers with routes as assigned by your Manager or Supervisor · Stock and or place products on customers’ shelves or another designed location when applicable · Collect payments from customers and record transactions · Resolve service complaints when able, issue credit memos for refused product, return product to warehouse and maintain effective communication with transportation supervisors, management and the sales department · Organize end-of-day paperwork for office administration · Perform Pre & Post trip inspections and maintain proper cold environment within delivery trailer · Clean warehouse, maintain temperature control and assist in upholding the highest level of AIB standards possible |
ESSENTIAL DUTIES |
The following is a list of duties that are essential to the Southwest Traders Delivery Driver position and employees must be capable of performing them at all times.
· Must be able to execute basic and advanced driving methods in accordance to the type of equipment used by Southwest Traders and in compliance of all DOT regulations · Must be able to perform all delivery functions including: o Deciphering invoices, unloading the correct amount of products and delivering the items into store locations o Use of a two-wheel hand cart o Use of a trailer lift gate o Capable of easily recognizing customer products o Legibly and correctly completing necessary paperwork o Collection of money and the ability to quickly perform basic mathematic equations o Performing a daily delivery route routine while following specific customer guidelines for delivery methods o Communicating with various customers and providing exceptional customer service o Must be able to maintain minimum company standards in regard to through put, error percentage and on time delivery o The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, local area maps, driver handbook, invoices and credit memos o Must be able to perform Pre / Post trip inspections on a regular and ongoing basis o Must be capable and available to consistently complete the entire route which will require you to work the maximum on duty hours allowed by the DOT. o Performing the required job duties on a daily basis while working under the conditions listed below (see Working Conditions)

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS |
· Have at least 1 year tractor trailer, route driving experience (preferably delivering food and or beverage products) · Must have a clean 39 month MVR and be knowledgeable of all federal and state regulations as applicable to the DOT · Must have excellent customer service experience and strong verbal and written communication skills · Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays when needed · Must possess basic math skills · Must be self-motivated · Must pass pre-employment drug test · Current Class A driver license, copy of medical card and copy of current DMV printout |
