Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Coordinate the daily operations of the Macon location:
- Provide direction and supervision for the Administrative Assistant-Macon.
- Collaborate with the EVPISS to review services, facility, and annual goal attainment.
- Support marketing, recruiting, and community engagement for the Macon location.
- Coordinate maintenance and facility needs with college and county departments.
- Engage in the Macon County community as a representative of the SCC Macon location.
- Assist the academic deans in the development of the class schedule, including hyflex collaboration, room assignments, and faculty assignments.
- Assist the academic deans in recruiting and onboarding qualified instructors.
- Support instructors, academic support personnel, and lab assistants at the Macon location.
- Participate in a collaborative work environment.
- Follow college policies and procedures.
- Participate in the orientation of faculty and staff.
- Ensure connections with main campus systems, procedures, and colleagues, particularly in academic departments, Student Services, University Transfer Advising Center, and Learning Assistance Center.
- Identify and procure resources needed by faculty and staff.
- Support the resolution of faculty/staff conflicts.
- Participate in college faculty/staff and committee meetings.
- Provide support for effective teaching and advising
- Promote an environment conducive to learning.
- Participate in retention development strategies.

- Ensure the effectiveness of the Macon University Transfer Advising Center (UTAC) in collaboration with Jackson UTAC Coordinator; update student advising files; organize and distribute information to Macon Campus UTAC advisors.
- Share course offering and schedule recommendations with the Dean of Arts and Sciences.
- Support Dean of Arts and Sciences in monitoring class enrollments and managing section waitlists.
- Assist with student registration, transcript requests, and graduation applications.
- Make referrals to student counselor, learner accessibility, career services, academic support, and Student Support Services, as appropriate.
- Introduce students to Career Coach and provide career information.
- Coordinate Macon Campus job/career fairs and other programming in collaboration with the Director of Career Services.
- Provide assistance with financial aid information requests.
- Coordinate financial aid seminars and information sessions with the Director of Financial Aid.
- Assist with completing FAFSA and verification of paperwork.
- Develop Macon Student Service budgets, manage approved budgets and monitor expenditures, develop alternate budget solutions and demonstrate fiscal responsibility.
- Plan and implement student activities and events.
- Assist faculty and staff with events, field trips and guest speakers.
- Communicate with students through Stall Street Journal, bulletin boards, flyers, and email.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Master's degree in education, business, management, or related field. Academic credentials to teach in a collegiate field of study.
Knowledge And Skills
- At least five years’ work experience in higher education leading to this level of responsibility.
- Management experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstration of skills in the areas of organization and managing multiple priorities; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and visitors; and demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to navigate college campus environment; ability travel between campuses and partner locations.
