Work Study - Library Assistant

The Marie Burgess Library is seeking three bright and enthusiastic Student Assistants

Role

This student assistant position will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the library and providing excellent service to our patrons. You will be a vital member of the library team, assisting with a variety of tasks, including:

• Circulation: Check in and out library materials, process holds, and maintain accurate records.
• Customer Service: Greet and assist patrons with their questions and needs, providing friendly and helpful service.
• Shelving: Keep the library shelves organized and well-stocked with materials.
• Technology Support: Assist patrons with using library computers, printers, and other technology.
• Special Projects: Participate in special events and projects as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and reliable.
• Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• A genuine interest in libraries and a desire to provide excellent service.
  
  

Schedule

This is a part-time position with flexible hours, to be determined based on your availability and the needs of the library. We are especially interested in filling hours between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
