JOB DESCRIPTION:

Technicians will be installing and repairing data communications lines and equipment, staging, configuring, and supporting a wide selection of retail and network equipment including but not limited to traffic counters, point-of-sale servers, cash registers, wireless access points, amps, cameras, routers, and switches. This position will require a dynamic person with good troubleshooting skills as well as customer service capabilities. The ideal candidate will be familiar with various retail and network technologies, equipment, and capabilities.

Due to the reactive nature of this position, the service tech will be required during established working hours to be available on very short notice and respond promptly via cell phone. In addition, service techs will work nights and weekends.

Role and Responsibilities – Primary

· Review and complete work orders to move, change, install, repair, or remove data communications equipment such as cabling, wires, POS, CCTV, phone systems, computer terminals, audio systems, DVRs, digital signage, traffic monitoring systems, and analytics, people counters, as well as wireless RF units.

· Analyze, and troubleshoot, document-wide a variety of technical issues from CCTV and A/V to network and wiring.

· Read technical manuals to learn the correct equipment settings.

· Plan layout and installation of data communications equipment

· Connect microcomputer or terminal to data communication lines.

· Disassemble equipment and inspect and test wiring to locate and repair the problem.

· Modify equipment in accordance with user request.

· Test communication lines to ensure that specifications are met.

· Enter commands into the computer to test equipment.

· Read messages on a computer screen to verify that data is being transmitted between locations according to specifications.

· Speaks concisely, and effectively, listens to, and understands information and ideas as presented verbally.

Education and/or Experience:

· Must be 18 years or older

· High school or equivalent (preferred) .

Required Skills

· Phone systems experience (3 years preferred)

· CompTIA A and Comp TIA Network or equivalent certifications preferred.

· Excellent knowledge of basic Networking

· CCTV, Camera, and A/V expertise

· Good understanding of technology concepts and design, specific focus on store architecture

· Retail or multi-store environment experience preferred.

· Enjoys a fast-paced work environment, and the ability to multitask.

· A self-starter who takes initiative is open-minded and is a team player.

· Positive attitude with good energy

· Displays integrity and accountability.

· Ability to communicate well both written and orally.

· Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

· Travelling required – some overnights.

· Available to work evenings, weekends, and overtime.

· Must maintain a valid Driver’s License

· Driving Record must be incident-free for the last 3 years.

· Able to lift at least 50 lbs.

· Able to climb a 12 ft ladder.

· Able to sit, stand, kneel, and/or walk for long periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
