Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating the movement of freight and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The Dispatcher will work closely with drivers, customers, and other departments to maintain an efficient supply chain.
Duties
- Coordinate and schedule shipments for freight transportation, ensuring timely delivery.
- Communicate effectively with drivers to provide instructions and updates on routes.
- Utilize Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine systems for tracking shipments and managing logistics.
- Analyze shipping data to optimize routes and improve delivery efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving activities.
- Provide exceptional phone etiquette when interacting with customers and vendors.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to address any issues related to dispatching.
- Monitor freight status and resolve any delays or complications that may arise.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching or a related field within the logistics industry.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent phone etiquette.
- Familiarity with freight operations and supply chain processes.
- Proficiency in using Oracle Transportation Management or similar dispatching software.
- Ability to analyze data effectively to make informed decisions regarding shipping logistics.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic typing skills for data entry and record maintenance.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
