Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Marine Technician to join our team. As a Marine Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and installations on various marine vessels. This is a hands-on position that requires mechanical knowledge and expertise in marine systems.
Description:
- Conduct inspections and diagnose mechanical issues on marine vessels
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication
- Repair and replace damaged or malfunctioning components, including engines, electrical systems, and plumbing
- Install new equipment and accessories on boats, such as navigation systems or audio systems
- Weld and solder components as needed
- Rigging of boats for various purposes
- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate installation and alignment of components
- Test and troubleshoot equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions
Qualifications:
- Current OEM certifications
-Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Marine Technician
-Master Technician level Certification from Marine Manufacturers
- Strong knowledge of marine systems, including engines, generators, and electrical systems
-Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Supply own Tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Familiarity with soldering techniques for electrical connections
- Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate repairs and installations
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Responsibilities:
- As a Marine Technician you will be responsible for accurate, timely, and quality repair of high-end boats, motors, & yachts
- The technician will be competent and certified with outboard diagnostic, repair, & testing
- The ideal candidate will have a passion for the marine industry and a strong desire to provide exceptional service to our clients
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine engines and systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Install and repair engines, generators, and other marine systems
- Conduct sea trials and perform quality control checks
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Complete designated work in a timely, competent & professional manner
- Accurately diagnose & repair problems with boats & motors (commensurate with experience level)
- Coordinate with parts manager on parts that are needed to ensure timeliness of job completion
- Document all work & parts on repair order
- Complaint, Cause, and Correction
- Maintain & protect the interior & exterior of the boat as it is being serviced
- Attend applicable service schools to maintain certification & for continuing educational requirements
- Maintain an orderly, clean, & professional work area
