Job Overview:
The Healthcare Dietary Aide is responsible for using patient centered care to accurately serve food to residents. Major responsibilities include stocking kitchens, preparing and serving trays at mealtimes, accurately operating technical equipment, and following state regulations within long term care. The Dietary Aide will be responsible for sanitation activities, including dishware, equipment cleaning and janitorial tasks. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Springmoor may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may be adjusted to match changing business needs.
General Responsibilities:
- Read/follow production numbers to stocks kitchen; fridge, cupboards and steam tables with resident’s preferences prior to meal services
- Ability to be flexible with requested food substitutions
- Cook last minute items
- Follow diet orders and prepare trays with 100% tray accuracy
- Present food with accurate portions and good plate presentation
- Comply with all HACCP policies and procedures. Follow appropriate food handling and documentation of equipment and food temperatures
- Break down station at the end of the meal period
- Wash dishes, clean all food contact surfaces, food storages, and equipment
- Properly store food (covered, labeled, dated)
- Maintain cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards
- Assist other Dining Service Healthcare employees during staffing shortages
- Able to interact positively with residents and staff in the dining area
- Help residents and other departments in your assigned neighborhood
- Comply with all state regulations and Springmoor’s policies and procedures
- Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner
- Participating in department meetings
- Complete all safety and service training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Some dining service experience or work in healthcare is preferred
- Education on modified diets or and/or a dietetic education background is preferred
- Must be able to read, speak and understand English

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Generally in an indoor/office setting; however, may occasionally assist in kitchens or a dining room.
- The employee is primarily in a controlled temperate environment
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours
- Walking through the facility is needed to meet resident needs
- Must be able to push or lift 35lbs
- Masks are mandatory while outside the office in the Health Center
Salary : $13 - $17
