Description
The Lab Assistant coordinates the processing activities of AirChek devices including receipt, logging in, and then loading into equipment for analysis. This position is physically demanding and fast-paced, requiring the ability to move quickly and process kits accurately to meet demands of high-volume laboratory.
Responsibilities/Duties:
In accordance with standard operating procedures and work processes, responsibilities include:
Radon Test Device Receipt:
- Receive incoming devices
- Conduct visual and material inspections to ensure the quality and integrity of Radon Test Devices meets internal standards to be analyzed
- Transfer bins of devices to analysis area
Radon Device Analysis:
- Follow internal SOPs to collect samples and load equipment for analysis by cutting packets, pouring contents into designated openings in rapid succession.
- Ensure all areas are loaded to reach maximum capacity vs existing demand at all times.
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment and error codes
Device Manufacturing:
- When Airchek demand/volume is low, responsibilities will shift to support test kit production.
- Assemble devices according to work instructions and processes
- Meet internal efficiency standards and quality metrics
Additional Skills/Experience Required:
· Proficient in data entry and using LIMS
· Must organized to keep track of high volume of devices with quick turnaround times.
· Detail oriented to track serial numbers in numerical order.
· Must be able to read and communicate in English to understand SOPs

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
This is a physically demanding position requiring the following: standing for 8 hour shift; manual dexterity with hands/fingers to repetitively cut open and handle small testing kits; eye/hand coordination to pour contents precisely into designated opening, agility to quickly move to multiple stations across array.
