The Admissions Nurse is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the admissions process to ATS and CSS. The admissions nurse is responsible for the initial assessment and admission of patients on to the unit. This role requires care coordination with various departments to provide high quality care. The admissions nurse ensures all necessary documentation is completed accurately and the patient is appropriate for the unit before completing the admission and reporting to the unit.
Schedule: Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday 8:00am-2:00pm. This can also be a per diem opportunity as we will consider splitting shifts for the right candidate(s).

Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs Admission Nurse tasks including, but not limited to physical assessment, full medication reconciliation, obtaining orders from outside medical teams when required, assist with obtaining required medication, protocol initiation.
- Coordinates patient admissions with OTC, Front Desk Staff, ATS and CSS units.
- Assists with referrals for MAT/CSS.
- Provides back up coverage for UR Coordinator.
- Performs liaison support for inpatient needs with the Pharmacy.
- Problem solves issues that arise.
- Promotes an environment which contributes to the health, well-being and safety of staff and clients.
- Assist Director of Nursing with administrative tasks during downtime- including, but not limited to inventory, reporting, scheduling etc.
- Other duties as required.
Experience and Skills:
Education & Experience
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Current MA nursing license (RN/LPN).
- Knowledge of detoxification regimes for substance use.
- Experience in the care of chemically dependent patients preferred.
- Experience in dual diagnosis preferred.
- LPN’s working in admissions must complete physical assessment competency as required by BSAS.
