What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Medical Assistant position at St. Hope Foundation?
We are seeking a Senior Medical Assistant (HCM) to become a part of our team! You will be responsible for functioning as a leadership expert and demonstrates highly competent knowledge in the more technical and advanced examinations and treatments and carry out delegated administrative tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises a small team (2-4) staff and evaluates service delivery to ensure patients are receiving the best quality care.
- Assist with direct patient care procedures and related tasks: check in, vitals, obtaining client history, assist with medical examinations.
- Assist with performing routine procedures as injections, venipunctures and sterile dressing changes as directed by medical personnel.
- Perform medication inventory control checks.
- Perform essential work within Electronic Health Record system and program data entry systems with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate in a culturally competent and effective manner to clients/caregivers regarding the services available.
- Demonstrates the ability to solve common problems and to provide immediate solutions.
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
Qualifications:
- Minimum: 3 Years of Clinical Experience (e.g., Nursing, Medical Assistant, etc.)
- Supervisory Skills – preferred 2 years experience.
- Experience working in a family practice setting, a plus.
- No disciplinary action against license (good standing status)
- Computer proficient, excellent written and verbal skills.
- Work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Detailed oriented, organized and flexible
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have dependable transportation
Working Conditions:
- The position occasionally requires sitting, standing and bending. Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required.
- Must be willing to travel to Bellaire Health Center and Dickinson Health Center
